Healthy Weight Loss
Don't resort to dangerous means of losing weight.
Everyone generally knows how to lose weight, but not very many people know how to lose weight in a healthy manner. Nor are many willing to do what it takes. But forget those people! Because what those people don't understand, is that the only way to lose weight and keep it off for good is by doing it the healthy way. Therefore I will not coach you on the "quick fat loss" techniques, or the "10 second abs" training mentality. Instead, I will guide you in such a manner that you understand the basic fundamentals of what entails healthy weight loss.
In a generalized sense, healthy fat loss requires two things, a balanced diet and a suitable workout plan. There are fundamentals for each which make up for a healthy weight loss plan.
The fundamentals of a Healthy Diet
- Smaller frequent meals - This is a necessity. Any diet plan which neglects this basic rule is unhealthy. You can't eat only three meals a day and expect to lose fat in the most efficient manner possible. Usually in order to eat only three meals a day, you have to neglect hunger for significant periods throughout the day and this is not healthy. Neglecting any sign your body gives you is unhealthy. You must continually and immediately satisfy any hunger, but also be sure not to gorge yourself at the same time. Stop eating when that hunger is satisfed.
- Balanced Macronutrient Ratios - This means that your protein, carb, and fat intakes should all be balanced accordingly. Generally a 50% carbohydrate, 35% protein, and 15% fat intake is ideal. These numbers can fluctuate depending on your level of activity. If you're more active than most, you will want to consume more carbohydrates and more protein. Never attempt to eliminate fat because there are certain types of fats found in natural foods like nuts that are beneficial to the body.
- Sufficient supply of natural foods - Fruits, vegetables, nuts, etc... eat them all! Most all natural food sources are healthy and beneficial. Processed foods are the culprit and you want to eat less of those.
The fundamentals of a Healthy Workout
- Properly structered for your needs - Everyone has personal needs and these need to be addressed in a physical before starting a new workout plan. If you have certain medical conditions, your workout needs to be constructed in such a way that will not conflict with those medical conditions.
- Well balanced - There are two methods of training. Aerobic and anaerobic. Aerobic training is a constant steady inclined heart beat. Aerobic training involves exercising through running, aerobic workout videos, swimming, or anything that is consistent and high intensity in nature. Anaerobic training is short bouts of high intensity training. This includes weight training, sprints, most sporting events, etc... It is best to integrate both of these forms of training in your workout as aerobic serves the purpose of weight loss and anaerobic generally serves the purpose of building muscle mass and strength.
