Learn more about the many exercise machines available
There are many exercise machines available on the market today. It seems as though every time you flip through the tv stations, there is a some fitness model trying to sell a weird looking contraption that seems to do exactly what the other ones have been able to do for years. The reason these fitness companies keep producing more and more fitness equipment to the mainstream public, is obviously money. And people especially in American society buy into it, because they are marketed towards those who want to see results with as little work and interruption in their life as possible. This is a flawed sense of logic though, if you wish to reach a goal you have to do what it takes.
The necessary "fat loss" exercise equipment
- Believe it or not, you don't need exercise equipment to lose fat. Losing fat primarily deals with your diet (at least 80%). You should of course exercise because it is unhealthy otherwise. However, you do not need a piece of equipment. You can swim, jog, run, walk, play sports, etc... The whole goal of losing fat concerning exercise is to raise your heart rate for a portion of time no less than 10 minutes. You can achieve this in many ways.
- Treadmill - Like I said, you don't need any exercise equipment to lose fat, but this is what I would recommend if anyone were looking to buy equipment with fat loss in mind.
- Stationary Bike - This is great for something different.
The necessary "muscle building" exercise equipment
- Unlike fat loss equipment, you do need certain equipment in order to build muscle mass. I always recommend joining a gym to those who wish to build mass, simply because a gym usually has all the equipment you need in order to build a well rounded physique. If you do not have access to the gym, this is what I would recommend buying.
- Bench - A bench that has the ability to incline and decline.
- Barbell - At least one olympic size barbell.
- 300 lb. plate set - At least four 45 lb plates, two 25 lb plates, and an assortment of 10's and 5's.
- Dumbbells - You can purchase dumbbells where you can easily screw on and off plates.
- EzCurlBar - The "twisted" shorter bar for curling and other various exercises.
- Cable Machine - These might be more expensive, but they're a necessity for performing lat pull-downs.
Whether your goal is to lose fat or build muscle mass, I always recommend joining a gym as they have it all. If the only thing holding you back is gym fear, have a friend go with you and you will quickly see there is nothing to be afraid about!
