Burning Calories

The number one way to burn calories is through exercise. A secondary way to burn calories is by eating more frequently. And lastly a third way you can burn more calories is by developing more muscle, because muscle requires more energy to operate. If you're able to maintain a lifestyle in such a way that is condusive to all three pathways of burning calories, you will be on your way to fat loss in no time!

Physical Activity

Eat smaller meals more frequently

Instead of eating only 3 big meals per day, eat at least 5 smaller meals. You can actually eat the same amount of food except spread out over 5 meals, and guess what? You will burn more calories eating 5 meals instead of 3. Why is this? Because you are activating your digestive processes 2 more times which require more energy. There is no question about it, you must eat more frequently in order to maximize your potential of burning calories.

Build Muscle Mass

Training with the use of either machine resistance or freeweights (dumbbells and barbells) will help you build muscle mass. The more muscle your body has, the more calories your body will consume. You are killing two birds with one stone. First you are building muscle which is something everyone can use more of, and your body is also consuming more calories because of the added muscle ass. And don't worry about becoming "too bulky" if you're a woman, it takes many years of hard work to achieve that excessive bulky look many women are afraid of.
