Basic Diet Plan tips and information
You shouldn't concern yourself with the idea of a basic diet plan, but rather a quality diet plan that will work for you and your goals. All great diet plans house a couple qualities that are universal in nature. The diet plans which are great are those that are customized specifically for you. All of the fad diets we see out there in the magazines and TV lack this important quality, which is why those who choose to follow them usually end up failing and end up worse than they started.
Although it is important to note that all basic diet plans should be individually geared towards those that follow them, there are a few characteristics seen through all of them.
1. Frequent Small Meals - Frequent small meals (on average no less than 5 meals per day) helps the body burn more calories because continually feeding yourself on a more frequent basis requires more energy from the body (which burns calories).
2. High in complex carbohydrates - Too many people are neglecting the importance of good carbohydrates. Good carbohydrates provide necessary fuel for the body.
3. A good ratio of protein:carbs:fats - Everything we consume for the most part is either one of the three macronutrients. Protein, carbohydrates, or fats. Generally speaking you should consume roughly 50% carbohydrates, 35% protein and 15% fats. These values can fluctuate depending on how active you are.
